Government's Swachhata Campaign Generates Revenue and Frees Space
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions reported that Rs. 4085 Crores has been earned through five annual cleanliness campaigns since 2021, which involved the disposal of scrap from government offices. The campaigns freed up 231.75 lac sq ft of space, previously blocked by waste. The initiative, part of a broader 'Waste to Wealth' strategy, includes recycling efforts by the Ministry of Science & Technology, showcasing the potential for economic activity through waste management.
