Govt Expands Rural Media Outreach with New Initiatives

The Indian government has commissioned 264 Community Radio Stations since 2019, established 6 new Doordarshan channels, and upgraded 17 existing channels. The DD Free Dish service has expanded from 104 to 510 channels, including 320 educational channels. The initiatives aim to enhance media accessibility in rural areas, promoting local culture and information dissemination.
