Guidelines for Regulation of Walkie Talkies on E-Commerce Platforms

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued new guidelines to prevent the illegal listing and sale of radio equipment, including walkie-talkies, on e-commerce platforms. These guidelines aim to ensure consumer safety, compliance with licensing laws, and accurate product information. E-commerce platforms are required to verify seller credentials, disclose necessary licensing information, and remove non-compliant listings. The guidelines were developed after consultations with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Telecommunications, following the examination of over 16,000 product listings.
