The Government of India has initiated Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 1.2 for Specialty Steel, aiming to strengthen the domestic steel manufacturing industry and reduce dependency on imports. This plan, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of global manufacturing leadership, includes commitments from 55 companies for an investment of ₹11,887 crore to increase specialty steel production by 8.7 million tonnes by FY 2031.
