Health and Sanitation Facilities in EMRS Hostels
The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, announced that the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) has implemented comprehensive guidelines to enhance health, hygiene, and well-being in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS). Funding per student has increased from ₹1,09,000 to ₹1,47,062, covering various operational costs. EMRS hostels are equipped with separate facilities for boys and girls, including toilets, bathing units, and access to sanitary products. Inspections by State Societies ensure quality infrastructure and minimal dropout rates, with no reported cases linked to inadequate facilities.
