Heavy Industries Sector Doubles Production in Four Years

The Ministry of Heavy Industries reports a significant growth in the production of heavy engineering equipment and capital goods sectors from 2020 to 2025. Production has increased from Rs. 2,66,672 crore in 2020-21 to Rs. 5,69,900 crore in 2024-25. Notable growth was observed in sectors like Heavy Electrical Equipment and Earthmoving Machinery. Despite these advancements, data on employment and investments remain decentralized, and there are no current plans for certain disinvestments within the ministry's oversight. Previous attempts to disinvest units of public enterprises saw no proposals received, stalling the strategic sale processes.
