Heritage Restoration Projects by ASI and INTACH

The Ministry of Culture oversees numerous heritage restoration projects across India through the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH). There are 3686 Centrally Protected Monuments managed by ASI, with significant funds allocated over the past three years to aid restoration and conservation efforts. INTACH collaborates with private entities and uses the National Culture Fund to finance the preservation of India’s cultural heritage. Efforts include restoring monuments, setting up museums, and conserving artworks, helping to enhance visitor experiences and provide local employment opportunities.
