Household Consumption Expenditure Survey Results

The National Statistics Office (NSO) has released the results of the latest Household Consumption Expenditure Survey conducted from August 2023 to July 2024. The survey provides estimates of Average Monthly Per Capita Consumption Expenditure (MPCE) for rural and urban sectors, highlighting a significant urban-rural gap. The data shows that the average MPCE at nominal prices for rural areas increased from Rs. 3773 in 2022-23 to Rs. 4122 in 2023-24, while urban areas saw an increase from Rs. 6459 to Rs. 6996.
