ICGS Samudra Pratap Enhances India's Maritime Capabilities

The Indian Coast Guard Ship Samudra Pratap, commissioned by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, is India's first indigenously designed Pollution Control Vessel built by Goa Shipyard Limited. The ship aims to bolster India's maritime safety, pollution control, and environmental response capabilities. With an emphasis on Aatmanirbharta, over 60% of the vessel's content is indigenous. The ship represents India's mature defence industrial ecosystem and includes advanced systems to ensure its effectiveness in maritime operations. In a historic move, the ship includes women officers, aligning with India's gender-neutral vision.
