ICGS Vigraha Strengthens India-Indonesia Maritime Ties

Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Vigraha is on an operational visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, from December 02-05, 2025, as part of its ASEAN deployment. The visit aims to bolster maritime cooperation with Indonesian Coast Guard (BAKAMLA) through activities like professional interactions, joint training, and tabletop exercises. The visit highlights the growing importance of Coast Guard collaboration in ensuring maritime safety, security, and environmental conservation in the region. Key focus areas include Maritime Law Enforcement, Marine Pollution Response, and Search and Rescue operations. The partnership, anchored by a 2020 MoU, fosters enhanced communication, joint operations, and capacity building, underlining India's commitment to regional peace and stability. Following Jakarta, the deployment continues to Malaysia to further strengthen ASEAN maritime cooperation.
