The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 2025 will celebrate cinema that promotes global peace, highlighting ten films competing for the prestigious ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal. This award honors films that further the ideals of UNESCO, emphasizing tolerance, cultural dialogue, and global peace. The competition will feature films from the UK, Norway, Kosovo, Iraq, Chile, Japan, and three from India, showcasing IFFI's commitment to diverse and global representation. The ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal, first introduced in 2016, recognizes cinematic works conveying messages of compassion and social responsibility. Esteemed filmmaker Manoj Kadam emphasized that films exhibiting humanitarian values and non-violence are acknowledged through this award. This year's partnership marks the eleventh year of collaboration between ICFT and IFFI, reinforcing the mission to promote meaningful cinema. The event will take place in Goa from November 20 to 28.
