IICA Concludes First Arbitrator Qualifying Assessment to Boost Arbitration in India
The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) has successfully completed the first assessment cycle of its Arbitrator Qualifying Assessment Program (AQAP) organized by its Centre of Excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution at its Manesar campus. This initiative, which took place from April 24-26, 2026, aims to create a cadre of world-class arbitrators to transform India into an international arbitration hub for Viksit Bharat. The program was graced by Justice (Retd.) Hemant Gupta, who emphasized the need for a shift towards a more market-based, efficiency-driven arbitration approach to build credibility and confidence in the profession. The assessment is part of IICA's larger plan to augment India's legal infrastructure and dispute resolution systems to support economic growth and investment.
