IMD's Monsoon Forecasts Achieve High Accuracy, Continuous Improvements Planned
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has achieved accurate monsoon forecasts for the past three years (2023-2025) with an average forecast error of only 1.9% of the Long Period Average (LPA). IMD is enhancing forecast precision through advanced climate models, high-resolution satellite data, and techniques such as AI under Mission Mausam.
