Impact of Namo Drone Didi Scheme on Rural Women
The Namo Drone Didi Scheme, approved by the Government with an outlay of Rs. 1261 Crores, aims to empower Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) by providing drones for agricultural use. The scheme promotes advanced technology in agriculture, enhancing efficiency, crop yield, and reducing operational costs. A study indicates that the adoption of drones has diversified SHG activities, improved agricultural practices, and increased income opportunities for rural women. In 2023-24, 1094 drones were distributed, with 500 specifically under this scheme, facilitating the application of Nano Fertilizers across various states.
