Implementation of Mooshahary Committee's Police Reforms

In response to the Mooshahary Committee's 49 recommendations on police reforms, the Ministry of Home Affairs has communicated these to State Governments and Union Territory Administrations, as 'Police' is a State subject. The review committee, led by Shri R.S. Mooshahary, aimed to enhance policing efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability. Notably, with the enactment of Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, significant legal framework adjustments have been made.
