Improvement in Genetic Quality and Crossbred Cattle

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying is implementing various initiatives under the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP) and Rashtriya Gokul Mission to enhance the genetic quality of indigenous and crossbred cattle. Key measures include expanding artificial insemination, establishing IVF laboratories, and implementing genomic selection. Financial assistance of Rs. 196.61 crore has been allocated for vaccination against diseases like Lumpy Skin Disease.
