Inauguration of India's First Cooperative Compressed Biogas Plant
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated India's first cooperative multi-feed Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Kopargaon, Maharashtra. This plant, established at the Maharshi Shankarrao Kolhe Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana, will produce 12 tons of CBG daily and 75 tons of potash from jaggery, aiming to reduce imports. The initiative supports a circular economy for sugar factories and includes government backing for 15 selected sugar mills. Additionally, the Modi government launched a 'Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses' to enhance self-reliance in agriculture, with significant investments and support for farmers.
