Inauguration of TASL's Defence Manufacturing Facility in Morocco

On September 23, 2025, India's Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and Morocco's Defence Minister Mr. Abdelatif Loudyi inaugurated Tata Advanced Systems Limited's (TASL) defence manufacturing facility in Berrechid, Morocco. This facility, covering 20,000 square meters, will produce the Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP) 8x8, developed in collaboration with India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The WhAP is a versatile combat platform designed for various military configurations. The project aims to enhance local employment and self-reliance in Morocco's defence sector, with significant local sourcing and assembly planned. This facility marks a historic step in the strategic partnership between India and Morocco, contributing to regional security and fostering collaboration between the two nations.
