Increase in Apprenticeship Stipend Announced

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has proposed a 36% increase in apprenticeship stipends, linked to the Consumer Price Index. This decision, made during the 38th meeting of the Central Apprenticeship Council, aims to modernize the apprenticeship ecosystem in India. The revised stipend will apply to all apprentices, including those in emerging sectors like IT and renewable energy. The Ministry is also enhancing AI skill development through various initiatives, including the launch of a new Craftsmen Training Scheme for AI Programming Assistants.
