The Indian government has significantly increased its budget allocation for scientific research over the past five years, with a total budget of ₹65,307.27 crore for 2025-26. Key scientific agencies such as the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) have seen substantial funding increases. The government is also promoting private sector participation in research through various initiatives, including the Anusandhan National Research Foundation and the Research, Development and Innovation scheme, aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
