Increase in Old Age Pension Under NSAP

The Ministry of Rural Development has announced an increase in the Old Age Pension under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). Beneficiaries aged 60 to 79 will receive ₹200 per month, while those aged 80 and above will receive ₹500. States/UTs are encouraged to provide additional top-up amounts, resulting in an average monthly pension of around ₹1,000. The report includes state-wise fund allocations over the past five years, highlighting the inclusion of SC and ST beneficiaries since 2021-22.
