The population of Ongole breed cattle has risen by 10.88%, from 6.34 lakh to 7.03 lakh, between the 2012 and 2019 Livestock Census. The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying is implementing various initiatives under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission in Andhra Pradesh, including IVF technology, establishment of breeding centers, and support for bull farms and semen stations to enhance the conservation and development of this indigenous breed.
