India Accelerates Electric Vehicle Adoption
The Indian government is intensifying its efforts to enhance the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the country. Under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme, nearly 39,485 EV chargers have been installed, with a significant portion being fast chargers. The Ministry of Power has formulated guidelines to combat range anxiety among EV users by establishing interoperable EV charging infrastructure. Additionally, various government schemes and incentives, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes, are in place to boost domestic manufacturing of electric vehicles and components. The government is also encouraging private sector participation in setting up charging stations, and extensive funding has been allocated to support these initiatives, thereby driving India's EV revolution forward.
