India Accelerates Towards Tuberculosis Elimination by 2025

India is making significant progress toward eliminating tuberculosis by 2025, thanks to a 21% reduction in new cases and a 28% decline in mortality from 2015 to 2024. Under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, over 20 crore individuals have been screened, and more than 28 lakh TB patients have been diagnosed. The introduction of the shorter BPaLM regimen for drug-resistant TB and AI technologies for screening and diagnosis are pivotal in India's TB elimination strategy.
