India Achieves Record Growth in Wind Energy With 6.1 GW Addition

India has achieved a historic growth milestone in wind energy by adding 6.1 gigawatts to its capacity in the fiscal year 2025-2026, marking its best year ever for wind energy addition. The country, currently fourth globally in wind capacity, plans to expand further, aiming for 100 GW by 2030 and 156 GW by 2036, under the leadership of Shri Pralhad Joshi, the Minister for New and Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
