India Adds Seven Natural Heritage Sites to UNESCO Tentative List
India has successfully added seven natural heritage sites to UNESCO’s Tentative List, increasing its total to 69 sites. This includes significant geological formations and ecosystems across various states, reflecting India's commitment to preserving its natural and cultural heritage. The sites include the Deccan Traps, St. Mary’s Island Cluster, Meghalayan Age Caves, Naga Hill Ophiolite, Erra Matti Dibbalu, Tirumala Hills, and Varkala Cliffs. The Archaeological Survey of India played a key role in this achievement, which paves the way for future nominations to the World Heritage List.
