India has marked a significant milestone in its semiconductor industry with the commencement of commercial production at the CG SEMI's OSAT facility in Sanand, Gujarat, as announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. This development comes as part of the country's plans to have five semiconductor plants operational by 2026. The initiative, which is pivotal to the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, signifies not only a technological achievement but also a surge in employment opportunities, especially for young women from various states, who have undergone specialized training in Malaysia. The chips manufactured will cater to both domestic and international markets.
