India Aligns Skill Development with Industry Demand through Skill India Mission
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship under the Government of India is taking significant steps to align India’s skill development programs with industry requirements and technological advancements through the Skill India Mission. The initiative aims to equip the youth with future-ready skills through various schemes such as PMKVY, JSS, NAPS, and CTS. Key measures include establishing the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), collaborating with industry leaders, integrating new-age skills training in areas like AI and 5G technologies, and launching the Skill India Digital Hub to connect skilled candidates with employers. Employers participating in the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme receive stipend support to encourage apprenticeship training, which has shown positive outcomes in enhancing youth employability.
