India and Ethiopia Inaugurate Joint Defence Cooperation Meeting

On October 15, 2025, India and Ethiopia held their inaugural Joint Defence Cooperation (JDC) meeting in New Delhi, co-chaired by Indian Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad and Ethiopian Maj Gen Teshome Gemechu. The meeting aimed to enhance bilateral defence ties, reviewing ongoing cooperation and exploring new collaboration avenues in training, military exercises, and medical cooperation. This meeting follows a Defence Cooperation MoU signed earlier in 2025, establishing a framework for strategic dialogue. The partnership, dating back to 1958, reflects a deepening relationship beyond defence, rooted in historical ties and mutual interests.
