India and UK Near Completion of CETA Implementation

The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, Shri Piyush Goyal, met with the UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Mr. Peter J Kyle, at the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference held in Yaounde, Cameroon. The meeting focused on the progress of the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), signed in July 2025, and the steps both nations are taking towards its implementation. India has completed its internal approvals, while the UK has concluded its parliamentary procedures. Both countries remain committed to the agreed timelines for the agreement's entry into force and are planning outreach initiatives to enhance bilateral trade relations.
