India Boosts Domestic Battery Manufacturing with PLI Scheme

The Ministry of Heavy Industries in India has launched the National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage, a ₹18,100 crore Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, to develop 50 GWh of domestic ACC manufacturing capacity. This move aims to reduce dependency on imports and secure supply chains for critical battery minerals through several initiatives, including the National Critical Minerals Mission and enhanced recycling capabilities.
