India Calls for Increased Global Adaptation Finance at CoP30

During the Baku High-Level Dialogue on Adaptation at CoP30 in Belém, Brazil, Union Environment Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav emphasized the urgent need for scaled-up adaptation finance, warning that the global adaptation finance gap is widening. He highlighted India's commitment to adaptation, noting a 150% increase in adaptation spending relative to GDP over the past seven years. The Minister called for predictable, grant-based financial support and stressed that adaptation must be recognized as an essential investment, not an optional add-on. He urged a global collective effort to meet the financial needs outlined in the Baku to Belém Roadmap.
