India Celebrates Good Governance Day with Focus on Accountability and Performance
India marks Good Governance Day every December 25 to honor the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and emphasize the importance of transparent, accountable, and citizen-focused governance. The event is highlighted by the release of the Good Governance Index (GGI) which evaluates the governance performance of various states and union territories across ten sectors using numerous indicators. This year's events included numerous conferences and sessions aimed at furthering digital and inclusive governance, as India progresses towards achieving its governance vision for 2047.
