India Closes 2025 with Robust Growth in Telecom Subscribers

The Ministry of Communications released telecom subscription data as of December 31, 2025, highlighting an increase in wireless and broadband subscribers. The total telephone subscriber base reached 1,306.14 million with a growth rate of 0.66% for December. Bharti Airtel's inclusion of M2M connections contributed to a significant increase in wireless subscribers, now totaling 1,258.77 million. Broadband subscribers climbed to over 1,007 million, and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. leads as the top broadband service provider. Mobile Number Portability requests reached 16.12 million for the month.
