India Demonstrates 500 km Quantum-Safe Network

A startup supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) has successfully demonstrated India's first extensive Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) network, spanning over 500 kilometers. This achievement by QNu Labs Pvt. Ltd. marks a significant milestone in quantum-secure communication and aligns with India's vision to lead in emerging technologies. The demonstration was announced at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2025) and involved collaboration with the Indian Army. The initiative is part of the National Quantum Mission, aiming to enhance secure digital infrastructure in India.
