India Enhances Efforts in Indigenous Antibiotic Development
India is advancing in antibiotic development with the creation of Nafithromycin by the Wockhardt group, supported by the Department of Biotechnology and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). The Government is fostering research and development through initiatives including Bio- RIDE, PRIP, and collaborations with the World Health Organization (WHO) to address Anti Microbial Resistance (AMR) and improve national capacity, public health, and self-reliance.
