India Enhances Global Mobility for Skilled Professionals

The Government of India, through its Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has implemented several measures to enhance the global mobility of Indian skilled professionals. These initiatives span sectors like healthcare, construction, IT, hospitality, and green technologies. Key efforts include signing bilateral agreements and partnerships with countries like Italy, Germany, Australia, and Israel for mutual recognition of skills and certifications. The ministry also conducts Pre-Departure Orientation Training to prepare migrants on language, cultural, and procedural aspects. Furthermore, Skill India International Centers are being set up across India to provide training aligned with international standards. Over the last three years, over 33,000 candidates have been trained and placed abroad, with a significant uptake from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Kerala.
