India Enhances Telecom Security for 2026 with Strategic Reforms
The Indian Ministry of Communications has introduced major strategic reforms to strengthen the telecom security ecosystem. The reforms, announced by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, aim to bolster national security and ease the compliance burden on the telecom industry. Key initiatives include extending the Pro Tem Security Certification Scheme for two more years, reducing application fees for Telecom Security Testing Laboratories (TSTLs), and simplifying certification processes for Optical Network Terminator (ONT) devices. These measures align with the government's Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, aiming to foster a robust environment for both domestic and international stakeholders.
