India Establishes New National Standard for Bomb Disposal Systems
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has introduced a new benchmark known as Indian Standards 19445:2025, which outlines performance evaluation and requirements for bomb disposal systems. This standard, issued on December 24, 2025, was developed through comprehensive stakeholder engagements to address operational and safety needs for various bomb disposal mechanisms. It is available for manufacturers and security agencies to adopt, as disclosed by the Minister of State, Shri Nityanand Rai.
