India-EU FTA Negotiations Progress

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, met with European Commissioner for Trade, Mr. Maroš Šefčovič, in Brussels to discuss the ongoing India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to conclude the FTA by the end of 2025, focusing on a balanced trade agreement that respects each other's priorities. Key discussions included tariff and non-tariff barriers, India's concerns regarding EU regulations, and the need for preferential treatment in labor-intensive sectors. An EU technical team is set to visit India to further advance discussions.
