India-EU Ideathon on Marine Plastic Pollution Concludes with Winning Innovations

The India-EU Ideathon on Marine Plastic Pollution, organized under the India-EU Trade and Technology Council, concluded on December 10, 2025, in Bhubaneswar, India. This collaborative event between the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and the EU Delegation to India aimed at fostering innovative solutions to combat marine plastic pollution. Three winning teams were recognized for their innovative solutions across different challenges: identifying marine plastics, developing scalable removal technologies, and raising community awareness. The winning innovations are set to receive further incubation support, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to sustainable solutions in marine environmental protection.
