India Expands Ramsar Wetlands List with Two New Sites
Union Environment Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav has announced the inclusion of the Patna Bird Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh and Chhari-Dhand in Gujarat in India's Ramsar network ahead of World Wetlands Day 2026. This move signifies a substantial expansion in India’s Ramsar network, which has grown from 26 sites in 2014 to 98 sites.
