India Expands Uranium Resources, Focuses on Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Karnataka

From April 2015 to September 2025, the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD) has increased India's uranium resource by 217,560 tonnes of in-situ U-oxide, identifying new deposits in Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Karnataka. Geological reports have been submitted for further mining processes. However, no new uranium resources have been identified in the Deccan Plateau, including Marathwada in Maharashtra. Additionally, AMD has established a further 13.15 million tonnes of in-situ monazite, a thorium-based nuclear fuel resource, along India's coastlines but not in the Deccan Plateau.
