India Hosts Asia-Pacific Workshop on Data Ethics and Governance
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) of India is hosting a three-day workshop on 'Data Ethics, Governance, and Quality in a Changing Data Ecosystem' from July 14-16, 2025. This event, in collaboration with UN agencies, aims to enhance the capacity of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) across 16 Asia-Pacific countries. Key discussions will focus on the evolving role of NSOs, modernization of frameworks, quality assurance, and the adoption of new statistical architectures. The workshop emphasizes the importance of ethical data practices and South-South cooperation in addressing contemporary data challenges.
