India Implements Robust Vehicle Scrappage and Road Safety Policies

India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced comprehensive measures to enhance road safety and efficiency through Vehicle Scrappage Policy and Road Safety Initiatives. The policies aim to encourage scrapping old vehicles with financial incentives, ensure cashless road accident treatment, and address accident-prone zones. By 2026, 129 Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities operating across 21 states scrapped over 4 lakh vehicles. The initiatives include both short-term and long-term strategies, emphasizing enhanced safety audits, and offering incentives for scrapping government and non-government vehicles.
