India Imposes Wheat Stock Limits to Ensure Food Security

The Government of India has implemented stock limits on wheat for Traders, Wholesalers, Retailers, Big Chain Retailers, and Processors across all States and Union Territories until March 31, 2026. This measure aims to prevent hoarding and speculation, ensuring food security. Traders can hold a maximum of 3000 MT, while retailers are limited to 10 MT per outlet. Big Chain Retailers can stock up to 10 MT per outlet, and processors are restricted to 70% of their Monthly Installed Capacity. Compliance will be monitored closely, with penalties for violations.
