India Inducts 22 Rowers into TOPS Development for 2026 Asian Games
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India has announced that 22 rowers have been inducted into the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) Development Group. This strategic move aims to fortify India’s rowing capabilities ahead of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, and the 2030 Commonwealth Games, expected to be hosted in India. The selection follows rigorous national trials conducted by the Rowing Federation of India, focusing on expanding the talent pool across multiple boat categories. Prominent athletes include Paris 2024 Olympian Balraj Panwar and Asian Games 2022 medalists Arvind Singh and Jaswinder Singh.
