India Inks Deal with US for MH-60R Helicopter Support
The Ministry of Defence of India has signed Letters of Offer and Acceptance with the US government to secure sustainment support for the Indian Navy's fleet of MH-60R helicopters. This deal, valued at approximately Rs 7,995 crore, will extend over five years under the US Foreign Military Sales programme. The sustainment package aims to enhance the operational and maintenance capabilities of these technologically advanced helicopters replete with Anti-Submarine Warfare capabilities. Additionally, the support includes the establishment of maintenance facilities within India, fostering indigenous development and reducing dependence on foreign resources in line with India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
