India Invests in Iconic Tourism Sites Across States

The Government of India has sanctioned ₹3295.76 Crore under the 'Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI)' initiative to develop 40 iconic tourist centers across 23 states, including Punjab, in the 2024-25 fiscal year. The initiative aims to enhance and market these sites on a global scale, with projects being managed by respective state governments. In addition, the Ministry of Tourism has provided financial aid through other schemes such as Swadesh Darshan, Swadesh Darshan 2.0, and PRASHAD, supporting over 219 projects nationwide.
