India Launches ₹25,060 Crore Export Promotion Mission to Boost Export Competitiveness
The Indian government has approved the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) with a budget of ₹25,060 crore to enhance export competitiveness particularly for MSMEs and labor-intensive sectors. This unified and digitally enabled framework aims to replace multiple existing schemes to ensure speedy and transparent delivery of export support. Key features include the integration of financial enablers for easier trade finance access and non-financial enablers to improve market readiness. The mission prioritizes sectors significantly impacted by global tariffs and non-traditional export regions to promote comprehensive growth. Complementing the mission is an expanded credit guarantee scheme and RBI relief measures, aiming to ease liquidity pressures and support new markets.
